Background: Bridging Lanka opened a Donkey clinic in June 2018 and it has since become a successful operation for the treatment of donkeys and raising awareness about these mal-treated animals. The clinic also operates as a tourist attraction which raises money to fund the enterprise and staff.
The Clinic team includes a part time vet who is paid by the charity for their service and several employees who have been trained to deal with minor injuries and ailments.
Bridging Lanka are in the process of constructing a new facility to treat dogs, cats and other animals to counter the growing number of stray and sick animals in Mannar.
Role: We are looking for a qualified vet who could fulfil the role of treating the animals in addition to training the on-site staff and helping to raise awareness about animal welfare.
The work would include the following:
Treat Donkeys, cats, dogs and other animals. This includes operations and treatments such as open wounds, bites, broken limbs, rabies, castration etc…
Train site staff in basic treatments.
Assist with the collection of animals requiring aid from around Mannar. A truck and driver is available for this purpose.
