Background: Many of the projects run by Bridging Lanka have land with trees such as cashew or fruit trees. It is the intention of the charity to make greater use of this resource in a sustainable and organic way. Much of the produce could be distributed to other enterprises within the charity or sold for profit creating work for locals and income.
Role: We are looking for someone with experience in organic farming practices or of managing orchards.
Work with locals and the charity to understand what crops could be grown on the land available
Review the current crops and create a plan for harvesting, packaging, transportation and selling of the food.
Work with the charity to create a long term, sustainable plan for managing and caring for the crops over the next 5 years
