Background: There is an abundance of wildlife in Mannar including one of the worlds most important migration wetlands for birds. Over the last 10 years, the number of feral animals in Mannar has increased and the relationship between people and animals has suffered. As the area develops, there are increased demands on land and resources with many projects and expansion being harmful to the environment and the animals we share our land with.
Role: We are looking for volunteers with knowledge and experience of animal and environmental impacts to help educate and raise awareness of its importance.
Give presentations at schools, local gatherings, businesses and religious institutions about local environmental concerns
Carry out research in Mannar to help build a better understanding of the local flora and fauna
